WITH a name like Ignition, puns about this band looking for a push-start trip off the tongue.
But the Blackburn four-piece have issued an appeal for support slots to help them get experience in front of live audiences.
The band have only been together as a foursome for about three months after drummer Hayley MacIntyre joined bassist Andrew McCrimmon, guitarist Jon Rhodes and frontman Martin Scott.
The band hope the summer of 2003 will be the time they remember for making it on to the live stage.
Andrew and Jon were previously members of popular band Scenario which had drawn attention from A&R men in London.
Andrew said: "It was time to move on and that's what me and John did.
"We formed the new band and we developed a very accoustic sound then in February, Hayley joined as well.
"Since then we've been practising everywhere and have got about 10 or 11 songs done which we have worked on.
"We think we've got a unique sound which we are proud of and working on all the time. Now we want to go and dosome gigs and basically get out there.
"I don't think we have enough for a whole set yet, but certainly enough for a support slot.
"That's the next step for us."
The set currently comprises a mixture of covers and original material.
Andrew said: "We hope to get a bit bigger with more of a guitar sound as well.
"But the first thing we want to do is start performing again.
"Hopefully, we'll soon have a couple of things lined up but we're open to offers!"
Anyone wanting to offer the band a slot can contact Andrew on 07736 325328.
