THE letter from "Summerseat Resident" (May 16) is typical of the paper-pushing middle-class type engulfing our once working class village.
Personally, before illness forced me to retire, I worked for 35 years in council maintenance. People like me, who grafted for every penny we earned, cannot afford to pay for the unreliable and expensive Ring and Ride bus service, and don't want to run the gauntlet of walking up unfriendly Bass Lane.
"Summerseat Resident" needs to take a reality check; not everyone in Summerseat has a shiny new BMW sitting on the driveway.
