WHAT a noisy town Blackburn now is as, each day from drawn to dusk, a siren is wailing somewhere.
Sometimes, it is not one, but all three emergency services who are at it. The biggest culprits are the police. Theirs are forever going off.
We know these are essential services, but, surely, not all are 'fast response' occasions.
Do we need all this racket every time there is a call-out?
The police seem to use their sirens more since they moved their headquarters. Perhaps it is because they are now further away from the town centre.
