BRIT Award winners Travis are to play a gig at Blackburn's King George's Hall.

Tickets for the one-off concert at the 2,100 capacity venue on Saturday, June 21, go on sale at 9.30am on Monday.

The news that the Scottish outfit, who have twice won the coveted title of Best British Band are to play Blackburn, is a major coup for King George's Hall.

The gig will be the biggest since Robbie Williams played King George's Hall in May 1998.

Geoff Peake, the manager of the entertainment complex said: "We are very pleased that Travis have agreed to play here. It's sure to be a sell-out."

Travis, fronted by Fran Healy, have had a series of top 10 singles including Driftwood, Why Does It Always Rain On Me and Sing. Their most recent albums The Invisible Band and The Man Who both topped the album charts.

Tickets, limited to two per person, are priced at £17.50 and are available by calling in person to the King George's Hall box office or via Ticketmaster on 01254 898000.
