Leigh Centurions 55 Doncaster Dragons 14 by Mike Hulme: NEIL Turley is back in business - and in a big way.

Leigh's record-breaking full-back marked his comeback after a six-match injury lay-off with a sensational individual effort to erase the memory of last week's shock defeat at Oldham.

Turley swept in for a hat-trick of tries, kicked nine goals and added a field goal for good measure for a points tally of 31 as Leigh regained top spot in National League One.

Leigh never allowed the Dragons to build on their impressive showing against Salford a week earlier with Turley, Adam Bristow, Alan Hadcroft, Leroy Rivett and Paul Rowley at the hub of a top quality performance.

Doncaster hadn't touched the ball before Leigh went 6-0 up; Turley's shot kick gobbled up by Pat Weisner before Rivett crossed untouched at the opposite corner. Turley's dead-eye conversion from the sideline compounded Doncaster's worrying start.

Turley was at the centre of Leigh's rip-roaring start, adding a penalty and then pouncing for his first try from Weisner's deep kick. A 40 metres field goal from Turley put Leigh 13-0 up after 22 minutes but by half time they were out of sight.

Bristow produced a defence-splitting pass for Sean Richardson to send Willie Swann in from some distance; Bristow did it again with a long, cut out pass for Damian Munro to send Turley away for his second and just before half time Bristow scored himself after Turley and Richardson had worked an opening.

Stunned Doncaster's only response came in stoppage time when Peter Green squeezed over at the corner.

The Dragons were completely deflated when Turley race 50 metres to the posts directly from the kick off to make it 37-4.

Doncaster recovered some composure to pull another try back through Simon Irving but it was always going to be Leigh's day and Rivett got Leigh going again with an 80-metre interception try.

Either side of the hour Bristow sent Dave Bradbury under the posts and then picked off another stray pass to go in for his second from 30 metres.

Leigh didn't add to their tally in the final quarter but Doncaster did get into double figures when Brad Hepi scored from close range.

In the Super League Bradford coach Brian Noble has called on his side to learn the lessons of their shock defeat by London Broncos.

The Bulls lost for the first time since the first game of the season when London - inspired by a Dennis Moran hat-trick - triumphed 22-12 at Odsal yesterday. Noble was not impressed by his side's display and wants an improvement for their next game against Hull FC.

He said: "Full credit to London and Dennis Moran. He was the difference in the end. I thought he was great, on the evidence of his performance I think we should send one or two of our players back to Australia for the week."

Broncos coach Tony Rea added: "We missed a lot of chances in the first half but we were determined to stick it out and we showed a lot of character in the second half."

A late Lee Penny try to salvage a 30-30 draw with St Helens was not enough to satisfy Warrington boss Paul Cullen.

The Wolves led 24-10 early in the second half before St Helens rallied to lead 30-24 but Penny's late score meant the two sides had to share the spoils.

Cullen said: "It is encouraging to play well against a side who were world champions not so long ago."

"Some of our guys should not have been on the field through injury and there were some exceptional efforts."

Saints coach Ian Millward added: "We were very sketchy in the first half but there are a lot of positives which came out of the game.

"We are going to be fine and I am standing solidly behind my players."
