CUBS and scouts extended the hand of friendship to Darwen people as they raised money for charity. A dozen Highfield members, including the pack leaders, stood outside the market on Saturday afternoon and offered to shake the hands of passers-by.
They raised £170 for Derian House children's hospice, Chorley, through a tombola and £20 for the Highfield group itself.
Valerie Baron, group scout leader, said: "We would like to thank all the Darwen people for their generosity.
"We just wanted to let people know we are around in the district."
Anyone interested in joining should call Valerie on 01254 704812.
