PNE striker George Koumantarakis will decide this month whether to stay at Deepdale.
The South African, who has played in the Champions Leage, arrived at North End in January on a deal which expired at the end of the season.
North End have offered him an extended deal, but he is said to be thinking it over.
The club, meanwhile, have warned him that there is no extra money on the table.
Strikers are not something North End are short of.
With Richard Cresswell, Pawel Abbott, David Healy and Ricardo Fuller all vieing to play up front,Koumantarakis is by no means a necessity to Craig Brown.
