YOUR report (LET, May 20) about Blackburn with Darwen Lib-Dem councillors giving their pay rise to charity, went on to say that last year that theirs was the only party to oppose a 10 per cent increase in allowances.
Why mention last year? You should have been mentioning the situation this year.
But why didn't you? Had it had something to do with the fact that Councillor Robin Evans, representing the BNP, also opposed the increase in allowances? Woe betide giving the BNP some praise!
JULIE RUSSELL, Blackburn.
