GREAT Harwood residents were urged to "Don't drop it, put it in your pocket" as part of a week-long clean-up that will blitz the town's grot spots.
The event, launched yesterday, runs till Sunday and involves residents taking an active part in cleaning their town. A poster reminding them has been designed by Alex Robinson, seven, of Great Harwood County Primary School, who is pictured with PC Helen Jackson.
The clean-up is organised by the town's Community Action Group, PROSPECTS, Civic Society, Business Forum, the Rotary Club, Churches Together, youth groups and the police.
Organisers hope it will improve the look of the town and increase civic pride. It is also being used as a pilot by Hyndburn Borough Council for the rest of borough.
