POLICE are hunting three men pretending to be water board officials who barged their way into a 90-year-old woman's house.
But after searching the house they left empty handed when she refused refused to hand over anything of value.
The woman opened the door of her house in Scarborough Road, Blackburn, and was told by the three would-be thieves that they were from the water board.
They then pushed the woman aside and forced their way into the house, before searching each room.
When they failed to find anything, they asked the woman for her pension and bank books.
She refused to hand them over so the would-be thieves so they fled.
One of the men was white, aged between 20 and 30, 5ft tall, thin build, with light brown hair and was clean shaven with a pale complexion.
He appeared drunk and was wearing a white sweatshirt with blue writing in the centre. He spoke with an Irish accent.
The second man was about the same age, thin build with light hair and a pale complexion.
It incident happened at 5.10pm on Wednesday, May 28, and anyone with any information is asked to call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
