COUNCIL bosses have reassured residents that an object on top of a mill is not a mobile phone mast.
People living in Albion Street near Albion Mill in Ewood were worried after spotting a different item on the roof.
But Adam Scott, director of regeneration at Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, said: "We are not aware of any mast on this building.
"There has been for a while a number of small antennae and dishes on the roof of the mill and we were notified on two occasions last year that a number of additional antennae and dishes were to be installed.
"These two applications, although not subject to any requirement for consent, were nevertheless notified to immediately surrounding properties and a site notice erected on Albion Street."
Phone masts over 15 metres require planning permission, those below that height do not.
However, most phone companies adhere to good practice and inform councils when masts are being installed.
