ROVERS young-gun Paul Gallagher is going 'back to school' to make a kind-hearted donation.
For the 18-year-old Academy hot-shot, recently called into the Scotland under 21 squad to face Germany in a Euro 2004 qualifier, has decided to present his most prized football possession - the shirt in which he made his Premiership debut - to his former secondary school Our Lady and St John's in Blackburn.
The Glasgow-born striker, a key member of Rovers' under 19 championship winning side, came on as substitute in the senior team's 2-0 victory over Arsenal in March and was allowed to keep the shirt as a momento.
Now, as a gesture of thanks to Our Lady and St John's, Paul is to pass on his beloved 'blue and white halves' for display in the school's hall.
He said: "I still keep in touch with the school, in particular my old PE teacher Mr Mooney, and the shirt is just a little something for them to remember me by."
