THE speed restriction signs for Worsthorne have now arrived from Lancashire County Council.
Chairman of the Parish Council, Coun Tony Lambert, said: "The residents are very happy that the signs have arrived. They have been put up at all entrances to the village and I would like to express our thanks to county councillor Steve Large who pursued signage for the village at County Hall on behalf of the the villagers."
THE first meeting of the Residents' Action Group to Keep Worsthorne with Hurstwood Rural meets tonight in the Reading Rooms, Worsthorne, at 8pm.
Coun Philip Walsh, the co-ordinator of the petition will give a report on the current position. All are welcome.
THE parks department at the borough council has confirmed that the flower tubs outside the Reading Rooms will be planted up by next Tuesday.
WORSTHORNE Primary School has co-opted Mrs Brenda Lambert on to their governing body. Mrs Lambert has many years experience of the work of school governing bodies across Burnley.
VANDALS have attacked the new metal fence around the school. One section looks as if it has been damaged by a hammer or a brick.
The cost of repairs due to vandalism have to be met out of the school budget and this means less money being spent on the children's education.

THE vacancy on the parish council will be discussed at the next meeting of the council on Tuesday, June 10, at 7.30pm. All are welcome.
