THE road system in Blackburn is yet another major blunder by our politicians.
This is got to be one of the few towns where there is not a main street, but a through road that doesn't have a through route; and so many signs, and painted roads that should lead somewhere, but don't.
Despite proud claims to the contrary, Blackburn is the most unwelcoming town I know of.
Traffic doubles, so the experts take off half the road, with chicanes, speed bumps, etc. Where is the logic in making the roads narrower when the traffic doubles and it all has to go the same way?
Do we really pay people to come to such barmy decisions?
Blackburn is fast becoming a point on the map to be avoided -- you can't get at it anyway.
T HOWORTH, Carlinghurst Road, Blackburn.
