MUSIC Zone is returning to The Platform after the success of its last visit earlier in the year.
Kicking off at 7.30pm next Tuesday (June 10), it promises to be a showcase for performers of all ages connected to More Music in Morecambe.
On offer will be a blues group from the adult guitar class, two samba bands, choirs singing music from around the world, jazz and improvised music; and a performance from The Hothouse Band to celebrate the Tern project.
The group can also be heard on Friday at the official opening of the Flock of Words poem path, see below.
Another treat for the Music Zone audience with a performance from The Carnival Band on tour from Canada, who will then join forces with Morecambe's own Baybeat Streetband.
Both outfits were started by artistic director Pete Moser and are still going strong - and he will bring them together for the first time, conducting as they play each other's tunes and rhythms.
The More Music in Morecambe project is part of Youth Music Action Zones, instigated and founded by the National Foundation for Youth Music.
MMM also receives funding from Lancaster City Council and Lancashire County Council to provide a year round series of projects involving people of all ages and all backgrounds.
