YOU COULD forgive Poulton-le-Fylde Brass Band for blowing their own trumpet, they've just been promoted to the championship section of the North West Counties Brass Band Association for the first time in the band's 129 year history!
"A double honour as we were also recently promoted to the national first section," said a band spokesman.
"The credit for this achievement goes to the band's current musical director, Steve Tarry, as well as the layers who have regularly attended rehearsals.
"Under Steve's leadership, the band continues to go from strength to strength with good competition results and formation of our junior band."
And if you fancy having a blow, the band is on the lookout for new players. Anyone interested can find out more at www.poultonband.org.uk or phone Mrs MacPhee on 886823.
There are also vacancies in the Poulton Junior Training Band for 9-13-year-olds. Contact Graham MacPhee on 893210 for more details.
