BURNLEY boss Stan Ternent is lining up a summer swoop for Mohammed Camara.

I can exclusively reveal that the Clarets chief has already held talks with the 27-year-old wing-back about a possible move to Turf Moor.

And in a bizarre twist of fate, Burnley were actually recommended to the former Wolves player by his close friend Drissa Diallo who last night snubbed the Clarets in favour of a move to Ipswich Town.

Camara, a Guinea international, is available on a free transfer after he was recently released by Wolves boss Dave Jones.

He initially joined the Midlands club from French outfit Le Havre and made a big impression during his first season at Molineux.

However, he then sustained a cruciate injury shortly after Jones took over the reins from Colin Lee which ruled him out for the best part of year.

That affected his chances of playing a major part in the club's recent promotion push which ended with Wolves going up to the Premiership via the play-offs.

Several other clubs are also thought to be in the hunt for Camara who is described as a speedy and athletic wing-back.

But Burnley are the first club to have held talks with the player and a possible move to Turf Moor could now hinge on whether Ternent can match his wage demands.
