THOUSANDS of pounds worth of jewellery stolen from a "good samaritan" pensioner has been recovered by police at a Blackpool pawnbrokers.
As reported in last weeks Citizen, an 83-year-old woman was burgled after answering the door to a man claiming to be a broken-down motorist at her sheltered flat at Gill Court, Harrowside.
She invited him inside to use her telephone to call the AA, but later discovered that more than £9,000 worth of jewellery had been stolen.
A 25-year-old male appeared before Blackpool magistrates on Saturday, May 31, charged with burglary and fraud offences.
