RAZOR Dog, St Annes' self-proclaimed 'veteran rockers collective' plays the Victoria Hotel, Church Road, St Annes this Saturday night (June7).

The crazy fivesome promise "a host of new songs and a finely tuned performance, punctuated by drunken buffoonery and priceless gems of wit and wisdom".

Singer 'Blind King' Richard earnestly explains: "We like to share ourselves with our audience, our thoughts, our dreams, our hopes, our art, our humour.

"But we never share our Sports Mixtures. That's a big no no -- unless of course they happen to be inferior Sports Mixtures."

Fellow Razor Dog Ian Penny Pennington chimes in: "We played at the All Age Rage and showed them how it's done. They would have thanked us if they understood what it was that we were showing them.

"Unfortunately our ages combined added up to more than the ages of all the members of all the other bands combined.

"So it was like a bit of an age issue thing."

Together with bassist Anson I'm on Fire Forrester, Kevin the Max Andonegui and guitarist Radical Steve Borsley, Razor Dog have built up a following, playing alongside other bands including The Pink Torpedoes and UK Subs.

But as Kevin points out: "I don't consider Razor Dog part of the scene. We're more of a scene on our own." Quite.

Razor Dog and special guests, Preston band Sushi Pills, play the Victoria Hotel, St Annes from 9pm on Saturday, admission free.
