SCHOOLS in Ramsbottom are among some of the best in the country according to a glowing Ofsted report for the local education authority.
Despite being the fourth smallest metropolitan authority in England, Bury Metro has proved its own credentials, earning the highest category rating three stars in a comprehensive performance assessment.
The LEA had jumped from a two-star performance in a similar report last year. The independent inspection team made clear their thoughts for the future, saying: "This is a good, improving LEA."
The education service is also continuing to be an effective organisation.
Coun Steve Perkins, Bury Metro's executive member for lifelong learning, said: "Our schools and education authority are held in awe by many other councils across the country."
