FOR Bury's winning sequence to be ended by a 1-1 draw at Doncaster Rovers, the bottom club in the Second Division, was something of a disappoinment for the Shakers' supporters, but to bring a point back from the Belle Vue ground was in every way commendable.
Eight points from the last five games, three of them away from Gigg Lane, is a splendid record and rather than be dissatisfied with Saturday's performance, the team deserves praise.
Shakers gained a convincing 3-1 victory over Bolton Wanderers in the second round of the FA Youth Cup competition at Bromwich Street on Saturday. In the first game they won at Huddersfield.

TERRY Curran, Nottingham Forest's 22-year-old reserve team winger, signed for Bury on a month's loan on Wednesday, but faces a race against time to make his debut tomorrow at Portsmouth.
The highly-rated Curran, one of Brian Clough's first buys when he took over at the City Ground, injured an ankle during Forest's Central League game against Coventry on Tuesday. He has been under treatment since then, but Bury manager Bob Smith, who travelled to Nottingham to arrange the deal, expects Curran to pass a late fitness test.
Radcliffe Borough Football Club will be fighting for survival on Saturday in what could be their last match.
The management committee of the social club decided on Monday that they could no longer subsidise the team because of their own serious financial problems.
