A MOTHER-OF-TWO terrorised a charity shop manager and hit her in the face after she was released from jail for attacking her, a court heard.
Burnley Magistrates Court was told how Lisa Hartley, 23, partly blamed victim Julie Harrison for the loss of her children.
Drug addict Hartley, who had served time for smashing Miss Harrison's nose in the shop, embarked on the months-long campaign of fear within three days of her release from custody.
She went to the Help the Aged Shop in Nelson and told Miss Harrison she would break her face and not just her nose once her licence period was over.
The victim ended up having to take prozac and diazepan after her ordeal and was scared of going out, the court was told.
Hartley, of Holly Street, Nelson, admitted harassment, theft and two counts of failing to surrender. District Judge Paul Firth committed her on bail to Crown Court for sentence.
Sarah Statham, prosecuting, told the court the defendant was released from an eight-month prison sentence last October and within days was back at the shop and harassing Miss Harrison.
Over the next couple of months, the defendant went back to the shop repeatedly using threatening gestures and shouting abuse. She told Miss Harrison she was lucky she was not dead and once turned up with a gang of youths.
Richard Taylor, defending, said Hartley's pre-sentence report made depressing reading because of her upbringing and lack of support.
