The colour, the noise, the horns and of course the odd pitch invasions, yes you guessed it the Pakistan Cricket team is in town.
Pakistan are here to play in three one day internationals during June against England. After a disappointing World Cup campaign both teams have a lot to prove and there have been major changes to both squads.
For Pakistan the 'old guard' of Wasim, Waqar and Inzamam have gone. Rashid Latif is now the captain and the squad has a 'youthful' look to it.
Indeed since the world cup Pakistan have won the Sharjah Cup and also reached the final of a triangular tournament which involved Sri Lanka and New Zealand. This performance has pleased Aamer Sohail, Pakistan's chief selector, who said: "We won in Sharjah and were the losing finalist in Sri Lanka which means that we are on the right track. And keeping this in mind, we have tried to make minimum changes in the squad."
A notable omission from the squad is Inzamam, however Aamer explained "He has not played cricket recently, but we are aware of his talent, experience and potential."
As for England they have also undergone a major changes. Michael Vaughan is now the captain of the one day side, and again many of the old guard have been replaced by younger players such as the excellent Anderson and McGrath. The summer has started well for England with an emphatic victory of Zimbabwe in the first test.
The three match series between England and Pakistan kicks off on 17 June with a day/nighter at Old Trafford, before moving to the Oval on 20 June and culminating on 22 June at Lords. Now where did I put that hooter.
