I WRITE regarding the success of the taxi-drivers who participated in an 18 month course in Blackburn.
I would like to congratulate everyone who was involved in this scheme because I think it is important that we realise that the taxi drivers' job is a very difficult and very stressful one, especially for the Asian drivers.
They have to put up with lots of comments about the current situation regarding Iraq and other events around the world.
Most of the cab drivers keep quiet and take a lot of racist abuse and don't report these crimes to the police but it is important that they challenge this kind of unacceptable behaviour.
In Preston the cab drivers also suffer lots of problems from customers and by going on a similar course like the one in Blackburn, I think it would help them deal with situations in a positive manner.
