A FATHER-of-two who died 24 hours after he turned himself into a human fireball has been identified.
Michael Kennedy, of Cotswold Crescent, in Walshaw, suffered horrendous burns when he stopped his Rover car on the M60 near Blackley and apparently poured paint thinners over himself.
Passing motorists alerted the police after seeing Mr Kennedy and the car burst into flames.
Several drivers stopped and managed to pull him from the car before attempting to put out the flames. He was taken to North Manchester General Hospital in a critical condition. He died on Wednesday.
His family declined to comment.
