AT one time, a church and its grounds would have been considered sacred and respected by almost everyone. Today, sadly, to cover the doors and front of a church with graffiti is just an evening's fun to some people.
I just hope that the children who did this to our church do not have to come to pray for a deceased relative, a much-loved parent or grandma for instance, to find the church so disfigured.
Fortunately, much of the damage was repaired before the service that day.
May I say to the parents of children who play in the Preston New Road and Billinge area of Blackburn and sign their names 'Kyle and Tracie was ere,' we know they were -- the evidence in paint and felt-tip pen was difficult to erase.
God also knows and I am sure He is looking with pity on their ignorance. Please teach them that there are better uses for marker pens.
