FIRE chiefs are investigating the cause of a fierce blaze at a Bury garden centre on Sunday night.
More than 30 firemen fought the blaze throughout the night at the Newbank Garden Centre, on Radcliffe Road.
Fire crews were called to the scene at 2.30am after a passerby spotted smoke.
A 40 metre by 50 metre greenhouse was completely destroyed and the fire spread to an adjacent building containing plants and garden furniture.
Sub officer at Bury, Neil Helmrich said: "When we turned up the whole greenhouse was alight. It looked like it had been going for about half an hour before we arrived."
Owners were contacted and arrived shortly after the firefighters.
