CELEBRATING landing a job at a brewery came full circle for Damien McKenna, a court heard.
Blackburn magistrates heard he was arrested for being drunk and disorderly and during his arrest injured a shoulder. Police also discovered he was wanted on a warrant in Scotland and kept McKenna in custody.
"The irony is that he has already missed his first night shift and is unlikely to be able to work for some time because of his injuries," said Andrew Church-Taylor, defending.
"The likelihood is that the job will no longer be available to him and this night of celebration will cost him dear."
McKenna, 26, of Clement Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly.
He was given a conditional discharge for six months and ordered to pay £45 costs.
