CRIMEBUSTING grants could improve security at up to 500 homes in the Infirmary area of Blackburn.
A fund of £30,000 is now available to help residents get better security measures, such as improved locks, spy-holes, doorchains and lighting.
Properties thought to be more vulnerable will take priority when the cash, from the Housing Market Renewal Fund, is being distributed.
Neighbourhood co-ordinator Tanya Gallagher said: "We have had quite a few calls so far about these grants but the more people who take it up, the better and I would encourage more people to get in touch."
All the work will be done by Groundwork and teams will visit homes where people have expressed an interest in the scheme to assess their security.
To register an interest in getting any of the extra security fixtures, residents should contact Tanya on 01254 585631.
