AMBITIOUS plans for a multi-million pound revamp of the Lancaster Canal are to be unveiled.
The project to restore the canal will be the hub of attention when the Northern Reaches Restoration Group outline its ideas in a talk to be held at Lancaster Town Hall next Wednesday (June 18).
Members of the public will hear about progress being made on the fourteen-and-a-half mile stretch of the canal between Tewitfield and Kendal by British Waterways manager Debbie Lumb in the talk starting at 7.30pm
It is believed the restoration of the canal will bring huge benefits to the area, including 800 new jobs, new marinas and more than £60 million in income and inward investment.
