A CREDIT union has moved to new premises closer to the town centre to provide easier access for its customers.
Colne and District Credit Union has moved to The Open Door Centre, in Great George Street, opposite the town hall.
This will allow it to operate a new collection point at the centre and have a more central venue for member to attend and for new people to make inquiries.
The credit union has been in Colne for four years and provides the facility for savings and loans to anyone who lives or works in the BB8 or BB18 postcode areas.
There are already accessible collection points established in Colne, Earby and Barnoldswick and the new site will ensure the Credit Union can look towards future expansion.
Run by volunteers, the credit union is always looking for extra people to staff these collection points and full training is given.
A spokesman said: "Being a volunteer is a good way to get experience of customer service skills and of handling cash for people looking to enter of get back into the jobs market.
"There are a number of other volunteer positions required on various committees for people with different interests or skills."
For details of opening times, or how to become a member, call 01282 868423 or call into the centre on Monday afternoons or Tuesday between 10am and 4pm.
