RESIDENTS worried about revived plans for the shelved A5225 Orrell to Atherton link road can see the scheme for themselves at a series of public exhibitions.
All roads will lead to Wigan with the launch of the new transport corridor project which was unveiled at the Investment Centre on Monday.
The roadshow will tour the borough visiting Howe Bridge and Hindley, where visitors will have the chance to have their say and question engineers and traffic experts.
Wigan Council took responsibility for the A5225 last year but government plans to develop the scheme go back decades.
Plans include a dual carriageway link from the M6/M58 at Orrell to Westwood Park. There will also be a link road into the centre of Wigan where the inner ring road, abandoned in the 1980s, is being restored. From Westwood the road follows old railway lines as a single carriageway to connect with Atherleigh Way.
The exhibition venues include Howe Bridge Sports Centre on Friday June 20 from 10am to 8pm and Saturday June 21 from 10am to 6pm and the Monaco Ballroom, Hindley, on Thursday July 3 between 10am and 8pm.
