FOUR litter conscious primary schools are cleaning up their own act.
Golborne All Saints, AthertonSt Philip's, Atherton, Lowton St Catherine's and Tanfield at Hindley are among nine borough schools signed up for Wigan Council's Roadside Care Scheme.
They will adopt a stretch of road near their schools and keep them clean.
In return for litter picking the People and Places Programme will supply each school with equipment and two signs to advertise their work to the public.
Any other organisation interested in joining up can contact Nick on 01942 404290.
