A NEW professional theatre group made up of local actresses mounted its first production this week.
Moving Talent Theatre Company is comprised of Debbie Bowers, of Oakley Close, Ringley, Susan Kelsall of Radcliffe, Marilyn Bar-Ilan of Standmoor Road, Whitefield, Joanne Venet of Chapeltown Road, Radcliffe, Chris Kay of The Drive, Prestwich and Dianne Langley of Buxton.
They decided to form their own group after meeting at a drama workshop and their new production premiered at Barca in Manchester's Castlefield on Tuesday (June 8) for a three night run.
Entitled Seaside Shelter, it consisted of three amusing twist-in-the-tale short plays set in a seaside shelter. The pieces looked at female relationships and the lengths that some women go to find fun, embracing ballroom dancing, dog walking and shoplifting to name but three.
Proceeds of the performances will go to the Cancer Research Race For Life, a nationwide women-only sponsored walk that took place on Sunday (June 8). In fact two of the actresses, Joanne and Debbie, took part in one of the walks at Heaton Park.
