A BRIERFIELD artist who wanted to create a place for other artists to showcase their work and make a name for themselves has launched his own website.
John Bradbury, 44, of Stoneyhurst Height, was delighted to see his site entitled www.johnmbradburyart.co.uk go live a couple of weeks ago.
But he is urging more creative and talented people to contact him after a disappointing initial response.
John, who has been an artist for more than 15 years, said he hopes to hear from people across the North West to begin with but is eventually hoping to take the service further afield.
He said: "The website was supposed to be complete in January but we suffered a few design setbacks but it has now been up and running since the beginning of this month. I am slightly disappointed with the response so far.
"I have sent off 30 letters to potential artists in this area and I received 12 responses fom people saying they thought it was a great idea but only two of those have come on board.
"The more artists I have got signed up the more I can promote it to potential businesses and the better it will be. My aim is to produce a mega showcase of artists in Lancashire."
The website displays the artists' work and has links to different services available to them to promote and sell their work.
The website will offer customers services such as digital photographic services, promotional brochures and stationery, market research, printing and framing services, as well as a lease art service where companies will lease artwork for temporary periods.
It also includes a biography for each artist and will soon have links to other relevant websites.
Anyone interested in joining the website should contact John on 01282 430751 or they can email him at johnmbradbury@tiscali.co.uk.
