A WOMAN was found dead by her teenage daughter who had earlier refused to go and buy alcohol for her mother.
An inquest heard that Karen Hindle, 37, of Ribbleton Drive, Accrington, had a history of alcohol abuse.
On the day she died her daughter returned home at 5pm and was unable to open the front door. A cousin helped her to force the door and they found her mum sat in a chair behind the door.
A post-mortem examination revealed a significant level of alcohol in her blood but not sufficient to cause death. The medical cause of death was given as pulmonary embolism due to deep vein thrombosis with excessive alcohol consumption and fatty liver contributing.
Coroner Michael Singleton recorded a verdict of natural causes.
