HARBHAJAN SINGH today rocked Lancashire by revealing that he had suffered yet another injury setback in India.
The Turbanator, who was due to arrive in Manchester in the next 24 hours, suffered a reaction to his finger ligament problem in a net session.
That means Lancashire are likely to call off their move for the tall off-spinner and instead retain the services of Carl Hooper for the whole season.
Manager Mike Watkinson was discussing the situation with chairman Jack Simmons and the committee today before making any announcement.
The Harbhajan deal started to go wrong for Lancashire the day before the pre-season press day, when Watkinson was informed that he had been bowling in the World Cup with a finger problem.
Hooper was signed as a short-term replacement in May after Lancashire had secured permission from the other counties, but they were still hoping that Harbhajan would arrive to give a fresh dimension to their bowling attack in the second half of the Championship season but that now looks unlikely.
