A 36-YEAR-OLD mother suffered a gory death after slashing her wrist in a fit of depression, an inquest heard.
The hearing was told how a police officer who entered the Blackburn home of Jayne Owen found the walls and floors covered with blood.
There were two saucepans which had been filled with blood and the inquest was told that Miss Owen would have had to repeatedly open the wound she had inflicted on herself to sustain the loss of blood.
The inquest heard that Miss Owen, of Livesey Branch Road, had sent a text message to her sister Donna Ashby saying "I love you and all the children."
The inquest heard that Miss Owen had harmed herself on previous occasions.
Recording a verdict that Miss Owen killed herself coroner Michael Singleton said the blood loss was over a long period of time and Miss Owen would have had to repeatedly open the wound.
