ON behalf of the Blackpool and North Lancs branch of the RSPCA, I am writing to ask for help from your readers for a forthcoming event.
The branch is holding a dog show on the fields off Lawson Road, Blackpool, on Sunday August 3.
The event is always well attended by supporters and friends of the local RSPCA branch from the Blackpool and North Lancashire area and will feature a heat of the RSPCA's Dog of the Year competition.
Organisers are planning to have lots of stalls and attractions -- and are desperate for donations of tents and marquees to provide shelter for these.
The branch would be extremely grateful for the loan of any suitable structure for use during the event, which they would, of course, return afterwards.
Anyone who can offer the use of a tent or marquee should ring Carol Jones at the RSPCA Longview Animal Home in Blackpool on 01253 763991.
May I also take the opportunity to thank the supporters and friends of the Blackpool and North Lancs branch.
As an autonomous charity, the branch relies on generous donations from members of the public to carry out its important animal welfare work in a large area that includes Blackpool, Lancaster, Morecambe and Garstang.
Kevin Hegarty, RSPCA.
