I WOULD like to thank Mr James Cook (Letters, May 21) for showing me the error of my ways.
I, too, was once a fan of the local band, The Fashionable Winos, until I read his remarks pointing out how the name of the band clearly encourages under-age drinking and teenage alcoholism.
I wasn't aware of this threat to my impressionable judgment and I used to go to Fashionable Wino gigs purely to enjoy their music.
I am now, however, enlightened.
Other bands that will no longer be part of my preferred listening will be 'Ash' and 'The Burn,' due to their obvious desire to spark (excuse the pun) an outbreak of youthful pyromania.
As you can probably tell from my sceptical tone, I find Mr Cook's theory a little far-fetched.
He may or may not have taken the time to find out, but the Fashionable Winos are very talented and, I'm sure, despite the 'danger' their name poses, will go far.
