BLACKBURN Rovers have confirmed details of a pre-season trip to America.
The 10 day visit to the United States has been arranged through goalkeeper Brad Friedel, pictured left, and will include at least one major friendly fixture against DC United -- America's most successful club side.
The match, which will take place at Washington's RFK Stadium, is scheduled for Wednesday July 23 (kick off 7.30pm local time).
A founder member of the Major Soccer League, United have earned more domestic and international honours than any other American team.
They remain the only club to have captured America's version of the league and cup 'double' and they also won back-to-back championship titles in the first two years of the MSL.
Among their present squad is Bulgarian World Cup star and former FIFA Footballer of the Year, Hristo Stoichkov.
Ex-Derby County and Sheffield Wednesday midfielder John Harkes is also a member of the current squad.
DC recently beat a full-strength Tottenham Hotspur side 1-0 in a challenge match for the Capital Cup in Washington.
