A LEADING Muslim figure is to speak at the first AGM of the Building Bridges in Burnley initiative.
Iqbal Sacrenr, secretary of the Muslim Parliament of Great Britain will be speaking at Stoneyholme and Daneshouse Youth and Community Centre tonight.
Building Bridges In Burnley was launched at a celebration attended by more than two hundred people from all faith communities at St Andrews Church in June last year.
The meeting will look back on its achievements over the past year and look to the future on forthcoming projects and initiatives in the town.
The Bishop of Burnley, Rt Rev John Goddard, said: "Building Bridges is a venture of extreme importance as it has over the past year done much to develop understanding between those of a diversity of faith, culture and race.
"It seems to be a key player of building trust between communities at a time when it is most needed."
