A MAN escaped unhurt after arsonists poured petrol through his front door letterbox.
Police are investigating the attack which happened at 4am on Sunday in Dudley Avenue, Whitefield. The 30-year-old was woken by his smoke alarm and escaped. He was unhurt and no one else was in the house at the time.
The blaze caused damage valued at £100 to the door. Fire crews then doused the flames. Police are appealing for information.
