A TEENAGER who showed "complete disregard" for driving disqualifications was sent to a young offender institute for five months by Blackburn magistrates.
The court heard that Danny Riley had six previous convictions for driving while disqualified when he was stopped and charged with another in May. And within two weeks of being bailed he was again caught behind the wheel.
Riley, 18, of Beechwood Drive, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to both new offences. As well as being jailed he was disqualified from driving for 12 months.
Richard Mitcalf, prosecuting, said the latest offence was committed in the afternoon and there had been no real reason for Riley to be driving.
"He has shown complete disregard for the disqualification he is subject to," said Mr Mitcalf.
Basharat Ditta, defending, said his client was pragmatic about the situation and wanted to be dealt with without the benefit of pre-sentence reports.
