A PARTY will be held next week to celebrate 30 years of a Darwen Brownie group.
New Methodist Church Brownies will celebrate their birthday by a performing in a dance evening to raise money for Kezia Atkins, a Darwen guide who will travel to Canada in the summer in the trip of a lifetime.
Kezia, 14, of Newton Street, will be travelling to New Brunswick as a representative of guides in the North West.
Tracy Aldred, guide group leader, said: "The guides will be performing dances entitled the Arena of Life and we will be inviting ex- Brownies, leaders and helpers back to help celebrate this occasion.
"All the money raised will go towards Kezia's trip. Kezia will be one of the dancers and we will be raising money by raffles and tombolas.
"We are hoping that we can really help Kezia out."
The event will be held at the Sarah Street church on Saturday.
