A BLACKPOOL teenager has been viciously battered and stabbed to death in front of his grandmother and two young sisters.
The 16-year-old boy was attacked after a gang of intruders broke into his home on Jesmond Avenue, in South Shore, at around 8pm on Tuesday, June 17.
Police arrived at the scene to find the youngster suffering from serious stab wounds. He had also been beaten with fists and feet.
He was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital where he later died.
The victim's grandmother -- who was in the house along with two of his younger sisters -- also recieved injuries in the attack . The girls were left unharmed.
Three men have been arrested from addresses around the resort in connection with the incident.
They are being held for questioning at various police stations around the county.
A police spokesman said: "Inquiries so far suggest three men forced their way in to the house and attacked the teenager with fists and feet before stabbing him."
A Home Officer coroner has been informed of the victim's death and a post-mortem examination was due to take place later on Wednesday.
"Police are keen to speak to anybody who might have been in the Jesmond Avenue area around the time of the attack."
