VOTERS in Hapton will be going to the polls again tonight following the resignation of a Labour councillor.
Hapton with Park ward councillor Kevin Birchall stepped down from the role on the night the British National Party became the official opposition in Burnley.
The BNP took more than a third of the vote in May's local elections.
And although Labour will still have a majority, tonight's by-election result could see the BNP tally increase from eight councillors to nine.
The venue has had to be changed from Padiham Town Hall to the James Hargreaves Suite at Turf Moor because the original site was not big enough.
