YOUNG sailing enthusiasts in Pendle will be able to keep in close contact out on the water - thanks to Thwaites Brewery.
A donation from Thwaites' renowned Charitable Trust has signalled the purchase of three VHF marine radios for youngsters embarking on the Duke of Edinburgh award which operates out on the Foulridge Reservoir, Colne.
Ken Simmons, who works for the Lancashire youth and community service in Pendle and is local co-ordinator of the DoE award, said: "The radios are invaluable in terms of assisting the scheme and increasing levels of safety. We can't thank Thwaites enough."
