LEIGH'S very own Sherlock Holmes will be on the case when someone is mysteriously murdered in a garden in Glazebury next week.
Detective Inspector Fox will be on the scene to investigate the death at Lea Hurst, Hurst Mill Lane next Saturday.
But D I Fox is a fictional character played by Lawrence Maycock in the forthcoming Murder in the Garden -- a charity murder mystery day in aid of the Glazebury Methodist Church.
Lawrence, from Highfield Avenue, Leigh, said he couldn't wait to slip into his alter-ego of D I Fox.
The 46-year-old said: "I really like playing the part of D I Fox, it is quite a challenge. In the past I've played D I Fox, the villain and the body!
"I'm particularly looking forward to this because we're raising money for charity and it's also the first murder mystery i've taken part in outdoors."
Tickets are still available for the Murder in the Garden event, which starts from 4pm - 8pm.
Tickets cost £10 per person, which includes complimentary hot and cold drinks on the day, although people should bring their own picnic hampers and booze.
