LEIGH RMI fans have the opportunity to cut their playing idols down to size - by paying to turn out against the first team at Hilton Park.
The club is looking for 22 players to take part in the match on Saturday July 19. Each fan will play at least 45 minutes and receive a free replica shirt.
It's all part of a Family Fun Day which will also see the launch of a new kit for the Railwaymen - part of the innovative marketing brought to the club by Mark Patterson's arrival back in December.
"It promises to be an exciting day", enthused Patterson. "The people who pay their money through the gates every week will now have the opportunity to pit their wits against our first team. We've already had a great response from the public, so it should boost the finances a bit as well."
RMI will charge just a pound to pass through the turnstiles for the Fun Day and a couple of visitors will be repaid with a trip to the Mediterranean. The £1 will earn a free raffle ticket from which one of the prizes is the free use of a villa in Spain for a week.
Patterson and the players will also be embarking on another trip into the centre of the town on July 5 to raise the public profile of the club. Such is their endeavour that they will be followed by Sky Sports cameras on the day, which follows a successful visit to meet the people of Leigh in March.
Anyone who fancies pitting their football skills against RMI should call Supporters Club Chairman Peter Lowe on 07900 264-137. All monies must be paid in advance.
